Welcome to Birkam's Yoga. This Yoga system will reshape and heal your body while it relieves stress and tension.

The Bikram Method of Hatha Yoga is a demanding series of 26 postures, done in a heated room and meant to be performed in the given order, to the best of one's ability. A principle of the class is that one can learn to steadily make new demands of oneself, to work harder, deeper, yet calmer.

Bikram Choudury scientifically designed this 90-minute program to deliver total health through the balancing and strengthening of every system in the body in order to prevent illness, injury and some of the effects of aging. Through the series you will work every muscle, tendon, joint, ligament, organ and gland, while systematically moving fresh oxygenated blood throughout your entire body. (Not to mention, you'll burn a lot of fat.)

GET READY TO WORK HARD

Classes are 90 minutes long.

The room is heated, helping the muscles relax and allowing for safer and deeper stretching.

The heat heals and prevents injury while sweating aids in flushing toxins from the body.

Class is most comfortably performed on an empty stomach. Try not to eat 2-3 hours before class.

Bring water, a towel, and a yoga mat. (Mats and towels may be rented, and mats may be purchased.)

Wear as little as possible — you will sweat a lot.

TO RECEIVE THE OPTIMUM BENEFITS OF THIS YOGA, YOU MUST PRACTICE ON A REGULAR BASIS. TO RECEIVE MAXIMUM BENEFITS AND TO SEE SIGNIFICANT CHANGES IN YOUR BODY SHAPE, ENERGY LEVEL AND POSTURES, YOU MUST PRACTICE AT LEAST 3 TIMES A WEEK. A DAILY PRACTICE IS THE ULTIMATE GOAL.
